How to cancel a subscription on your iPhone (and what to do if you can't find it)

Go to Settings > your name > Subscriptions, tap the subscription, then Cancel Subscription. Plus what to do if it's not listed.

The skim

  • Quick answer: Settings > tap your name > Subscriptions > tap the subscription > Cancel Subscription.
  • If there's no Cancel button, or you see a red expiration message, the subscription is already canceled.
  • If you signed up for a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, Apple says.

Cancel on iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Tap the subscription you want to stop.
  4. Tap Cancel Subscription. You may need to scroll down to find it.

The steps are the same on iPad and Apple Vision Pro, per Apple Support. Apple is also letting developers show retention messages with text, images or offers in the cancellation flow, so you may see a pitch first. Here's what that means.

Cancel on a Mac

  1. Open the App Store and click your name at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. Click your name again on the page that appears, and sign in if asked.
  3. Click Subscriptions, choose the one to cancel, then click Cancel Subscription.

Can't find it?

  • Search your email for "receipt from Apple" or "invoice from Apple" and check which Apple Account was used.
  • Family member's account: if their Apple Account is on the receipt, they need to cancel it. You can't cancel a family member's subscription.
  • Another Apple Account of yours: sign in with the account on the receipt.
  • No Apple receipt: you probably subscribed through the company directly or a carrier. Check your bank or card statement, then contact whoever bills you.

Good to know

  • Canceling stops the next renewal. Apple's page doesn't promise a refund for the current period.
  • Canceling is slightly different in a few places, including Germany, Israel, South Africa and Türkiye, Apple notes.
  • Android and Windows users who subscribe to Apple Music or Apple TV have their own steps, listed on Apple's page.
