The skim

  • One week out: Apple HomeView and the new Apple TV 4K both arrive Friday, Nov. 13. Preorders are open now on apple.com and in the Apple Store app for $299 each (U.S.).
  • What you get: HomeView is a 7-inch smart-home display with face recognition for up to six people and Siri AI. The 4th-gen Apple TV 4K adds hands-free Siri, an A19 chip, and four-speaker HomePod surround.
  • Who should wait: HomeView is not for sale in the EU (Siri AI unavailable there on iOS). Personal context on HomeView needs a compatible iPhone or iPad on iOS/iPadOS 27.2.

What's arriving Nov. 13

Apple announced both products on Oct. 13. As of today, Apple's HomeView store page still says "Pre-order" with availability starting 11.13, and the Newsroom pages list the same Friday store date for HomeView and Apple TV 4K (4th generation).

Both cost $299 in the U.S. HomeView also has a wall-mounted model at the same price (space gray or silver). The tabletop model comes in silver, starlight, rose pink, and space gray. Apple TV 4K is also listed with Apple Card Monthly Installments at $49.83 per month for six months in the U.S.

HomeView at $299

  • 7-inch Liquid Retina display (up to 500 nits; down to 0.3 nits at night) with True Tone and a distance-aware interface.
  • Face recognition for up to six people, each with private access to Messages, FaceTime, Calendar, Reminders, and Find My when their paired iPhone or iPad is nearby and recently unlocked.
  • Siri AI for conversation and music; personal context needs an Apple Intelligence-enabled phone or tablet.
  • Smart-home hub: up to nine camera feeds, Matter / Works with Apple Home control, Intercom, and Spatial Audio in the speaker base.

Apple's buy page says setup needs iOS 27.2 or iPadOS 27.2. Schneider Home wall mounts start at $59.95 (USB-C) and $79.95 (AC wired); a PoE mount is listed for early 2027 at $129.95.

Apple TV 4K (4th gen) at $299

  • Full-screen Siri AI plus three far-field mics for hands-free control (language support varies by region).
  • A19 chip — Apple says up to 50% faster CPU and up to 2x GPU vs. the prior generation — with a dedicated AV1 decoder.
  • Four-speaker surround with matching pairs of HomePod mini 2 or HomePod (2nd generation).
  • Updated Siri Remote with Find My, Precision Finding on supported iPhones, and a play-a-sound option.

Siri AI on Apple TV is a beta in tvOS 27.2. Some Home features still need an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad as the home owner.

Who should preorder

HomeView: yes if you want a shared kitchen or hallway screen that stays private per person and you already live in Apple's Home ecosystem. Skip if you need EU availability — Apple says it is not for sale there while Siri AI is unavailable on iOS in the EU.

Apple TV 4K: yes if hands-free Siri, faster performance, or four-HomePod surround matter. If your current Apple TV 4K already works as a hub and you do not need far-field mics, there is less urgency.

Why it matters

Nov. 13 packs two $299 Apple home devices into the same week as holiday shopping. HomeView is Apple's clearest counter to Nest Hub and Echo Show; the new Apple TV doubles down on Siri AI in the living room. Confirm colors and ship dates in the Apple Store app before you lock a preorder.

Preorders: Apple HomeView and Apple TV 4K on apple.com / Apple Store app. No Amazon affiliate link (PA-API listing not verified).
