- Description: What Jeremy Moon reports about DREO’s 8L warm-and-cool-mist humidifier, plus the practical upkeep and current listed price.

**TL;DR:** DREO's Smart Humidifier 717S pairs an 8-liter top-fill tank with warm and cool mist, app controls and an adjustable humidity target. In his DREO-sponsored video, Jeremy Moon of Tech Talk With Jeremy discusses refilling, humidity sensing and everyday controls. The practical appeal is fewer refills and more control—not a promise that every room will get 80 hours between fills. DREO listed it at $119.99 USD and offered ordering controls when checked on Nov 7, 2026.

## A bigger tank is the main attraction

The 717S—also identified as HM717S—has an 8-liter tank. Jeremy describes the top-fill arrangement as a way to refill by removing the lid and pouring water in, rather than flipping a tank over at the sink. He also describes a wide opening and modular parts that make the interior easier to reach for cleaning.

DREO advertises **up to 80 hours of runtime**. Jeremy associates that maximum with low cool-mist output; it should not be read as an independently verified endurance result. Higher output and warm-mist use consume water faster, as DREO's own FAQ notes. For buyers, tank size matters more than expecting the headline runtime in every setting.

## Warm and cool mist, with smarter controls

Both mist types are available in one unit, so you can choose the output you prefer without buying a second humidifier. DREO lists app, touch and voice control. Jeremy describes setting a target humidity in auto mode and using the app for schedules and monitoring; he also reports that Alexa on/off commands work.

In his spoken account, Jeremy says the built-in humidity reading tracked an independent hygrometer placed nearby. That is his observation, not a calibration test by Skimwire. Likewise, his noise discussion offers a listening comparison rather than an independently measured decibel result. If bedroom use is your priority, his discussion of switching the lights off is worth noting.

## What to know before buying

- **Plan for water and cleaning.** DREO recommends purified or distilled water, regular cleaning and avoiding mineral-heavy water to reduce white dust. A large tank does not remove the need for upkeep.
- **Cartridges are optional extras.** Jeremy discusses compatible demineralization cartridges. DREO's standard 717S box list does not include them, so do not assume the base price includes a cartridge bundle.
- **Watch for excess moisture.** DREO advises reducing mist or switching the unit off if condensation develops around windows or the humidifier. More humidity is not automatically better.
- **Check the footprint.** DREO lists dimensions of approximately 12.01 by 6.73 by 14.45 inches. Make room for the appliance and access for refilling, rather than choosing on tank capacity alone.

## Price and availability

At approximately 10 AM MST on Nov 7, 2026, DREO's official store listed the Smart Humidifier 717S 8L at **$119.99 USD**, with Add to cart and Buy Now controls displayed. It appeared available to order at that check; checkout and delivery availability were not tested. This is a listed price, not a verified discount.

**Bottom line:** The 717S is worth considering if a large top-fill tank, both mist types and app-based control solve specific frustrations with your current humidifier. If you only need simple occasional humidification, those extras may matter less than price, size and the cleaning routine.
